Travel Documents & Visa Requirements

As UC Davis Summer Abroad programs are not affiliated with a host university, students who are U.S. citizens will enter Spain as tourists - and can travel there for 90 total days. (See qualification below). The State Department website shows the requirements for travel for U.S. citizens:

Passport required. Visa not required for U.S. tourist or business stays up to 90 days. (**90-day period begins when entering Schengen –European Union – countries).

Non-U.S. citizens (including Permanent Residents) should check for Visa requirements online at: http://www.esteri.it/visti/home_eng.asp. If a Visa is required based on your non-US citizenship, you are responsible for obtaining your own visa. Summer Abroad will supply a verification of enrollment letter for non-U.S. citizens upon request.
