The nearest international airport to Kyoto is Kansai International Airport (KIX), which is about 75 minutes from Kyoto by train or bus. When making your flight plans be sure to schedule arrival time so that you will be able to arrive in Kyoto in time to check in.

Please do not purchase your airfare until your program has reached minimum enrollment and is in confirmed status in your student login. UC Davis Summer Abroad recommends that all participants purchase trip cancellation insurance at the time they purchase their flights. Trip cancellation insurance can be purchased to cover lost program costs. Students who cancel or withdraw will not be refunded program costs after the cancellation deadline.
