Then take half the clothes and twice the money.  ~Susan Heller

Making Payments
Summer Abroad has an incremental payment schedule.

Accepted Method of Payment
The non-refundable deposit ($300) must be paid by check or money order. Other payments can be made by check, money order, or Discover card (if made in person). E-bills can be paid electronically through MyUCDavis.

Submitting Payments
All payments sent by mail or made in person to the Cashier’s office must be submitted with the required Balance of Fees payment form (available in your Summer Abroad login after enrollment).  If being mailed, the payment and payment form need to be sent directly to the Cashier’s office:

Cashier's Office
University of California
PO Box 989062
West Sacramento, California 95798-9062

Electronic Payments
Payments can be made electronically by using MyUCDavis: http://my.ucdavis.edu. Non-Davis students can set up access to MyUCDavis by visiting http://computingaccounts.ucdavis.edu and clicking on “Get your UC Davis Computing Account.” Non-Davis students will need their UCD ID number (available via your Summer Abroad student login approximately 2 weeks after enrollment).

Deferment of Payments
If you are receiving financial aid for the 2007-2008 academic year, you may request a deferment of payment. The deferment request form must be submitted electronically prior to enrolling in your program. Payment is due 5 business days after the expected disbursement of your aid (mid-June). Please note that you are liable for all fees regardless of the amount of your final disbursement.

California Veterans Fee Waiver
Students eligible for a California Veterans Fee Waiver can have the Course Fee waived. If you are eligible for this waiver, please send a copy of your award letter for the 2007-2008 academic year to Summer Abroad at 207 3rd St., Suite 220, Davis, CA 95616. Or fax to (530) 297-7142.

Financial Aid for UC Davis Students
Financial aid is available for UC Davis students from the UC Davis Financial Aid Office. To qualify, students must complete a FAFSA for the 2007-2008 academic year and fill out a Summer Aid Form. Summer grants apply only to the Course Fee (estimated at $1176 for 2008).  The Financial Aid Office will not give grants for the Accommodation and Activities Fee or the Program Fee, unless you have grant funds leftover from the previous year. Loans are often available from Financial Aid for these fees.

To apply for summer aid, you must complete the Summer Aid Form available online in early May at http://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/index.html .

How much aid is available for UC Davis students?
The Financial Aid Office (http://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/index.html ) will post the Summer Aid Estimator sometime in mid-March. You may use the estimator to calculate the potential aid available for your selected program. Summer Abroad will send a link to the Summer Aid estimator to UC Davis participants who requested a deferment as soon as it is ready.

NOTE: Summer aid will be applied to any charges that exist on your student account before your financial aid remainder check is issued.

Financial Aid for Non-Davis Students
Other UC Students
All Summer Abroad students interested in summer aid must apply for aid at their home campus Financial Aid office. The UC Davis Summer Abroad office will provide an enrollment confirmation letter, by request. All UCs award aid for summer sessions at other UC campuses. All financial aid recipients are responsible for paying their Summer Abroad fees within five (5) business days after the aid is dispersed. Aid is not automatically transferred to UC Davis.

Students at UC Berkeley and UC Merced must be enrolled in 9 quarter units in order to receive aid. Please contact a UC Davis Summer Abroad Program Coordinator for more information.

Students from Outside the University of California
UC Davis does not provide aid for students from other institutions. Please see your home campus financial aid office to inquire about assistance for a UC Davis Summer Abroad program.
